Pacer is a native iOS & macOS app for protein-first, deficit-driven nutrition. Instead of a blank food diary, it has your plan built in — a 200g protein floor, a calorie band, a 12:00–7:00 fasting window — and it does the math to show your live metabolic deficit and tell you what to eat next.
Yes — Pacer Coach is the trainer companion. Coaches program each client's protein floor, calorie band, fasting window, and exclusions, then monitor everyone's rings and metabolic deficit live. Clients share their data by invitation and can disconnect anytime.

No. An Apple Watch makes your deficit more accurate by feeding in active energy automatically, but Pacer also includes offline-safe workout presets so the math stays right without one. It always uses the higher of your manual entry or the watch's reading.
Your log lives in your own private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit, and syncs across your devices. We can't read the contents of your private data, and there's no Pacer account or server holding your meals. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Pacer computes BMR (2292) + Apple Watch active burn − calories ingested, in real time. A color-coded hero card maps the result to five states — from Target Deficit (green) through Maintenance to Surplus (crimson) — so a glance tells you where the day stands.
After lunch you rate your satiety from 1–5. If you're very full, Pacer steers you toward liquid protein (shakes, yogurt) to comfortably hit your floor without bloating. If the floor is already met, it tells you to coast; if you're short, it shows exactly how many grams remain.
Yes. Toggle presets like gluten, dairy, peanuts, shellfish, soy, and eggs, or add your own keywords. Anything you try to log containing an active keyword is caught before it counts toward your day.
