The short version: Pacer is built to keep your data yours. Your nutrition log and Apple Health data live in your own private iCloud account — not on our servers. If you choose to work with a trainer through Pacer Coach, you explicitly invite them and can revoke access anytime. We don't sell your data, and we don't embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
Pacer ("Pacer," "we," "us") is a nutrition and fitness tracking app for iOS and macOS, operated by Pacer Fitness. This policy explains what we collect through the app and this website, and how we handle it.
Pacer stores the data you create — logged meals, protein and calorie entries, satiety ratings, fasting activity, workout entries, and exclusion settings — using Apple's SwiftData with CloudKit's private database. This means:
With your permission, Pacer reads active energy, walking/running distance, and workouts from HealthKit to calculate your net calorie deficit, and may write workouts and nutrition you log back to Health. HealthKit data is processed on your device. Pacer never sells HealthKit data, never uses it for advertising, and never shares it with third parties. You can review or revoke these permissions anytime in Settings → Health.
If you connect with a personal trainer through Pacer Coach, you do so by explicit invitation. When connected, the trainer you approved can see the nutrition and activity data relevant to coaching you — your protein and calorie totals, deficit state, training days, and satiety check-ins — so they can program and adjust your plan. You control this: you can review who has access and disconnect a coach at any time, which stops further sharing. Trainers using Pacer Coach are responsible for handling client data respectfully and only for the purpose of coaching.
If you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you submit, along with basic technical metadata (the page that referred you and your browser's user-agent string). We use this solely to notify you about Pacer's launch and early access. The list is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) and is never sold. You can ask us to remove your email at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Your in-app data persists in your iCloud account until you delete it (in the app, or by removing the app's iCloud data). Waitlist emails are retained until launch or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you (such as your waitlist email). To make a request, email us at hello@pacerfitness.com and we'll respond promptly.
Pacer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this policy as Pacer evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice through the app or website.
